Lowell Pink Arrows?

Our illustrious football coach, Noel Dean, has decided to put our Varsity football players in PINK jerseys for their first home game on September 12, 2008 against Holland. At first, I thought this was crazy. The poor players are going to get teased like crazy. Well, I hope that's not the case.

Lowell is going crazy right now for pink. The football players will be in pink jersey's. The band will be in pink, the cheerleaders in pink. I think it's going to be a "pink-out". I wonder what the Holland players will think.....and their fans? We're going to have to kick their asses to prove they are still guys. But that's ok.

So everyone is flocking to Pep Talk to buy "Pink Arrow Pride" t-shirts. If you wear one to the first game you get in free. You also get to walk in the parade from the school down to the field and take a victory lap around the track in honor of a cancer survivor....or one you have lost to cancer. So, what's all the pink about? Cancer! All the money we are paying for the pink is going to benefit breast cancer. What a fantastic deal huh?

The players had a chance to buy their jersey's. They were $200! I guess that quite a few kids didn't buy theirs. The ones who didn't have theirs bought will be auctioned off by silent auction after the game. The chick from pep talk told me tonight that she has a bid in as high as $1000! Wow! Another for $500.

So, it's for a good cause. It'll be interesting to see all of these kids in pink. I'm thinking it's going to get some news attention. Normally, I don't like busy games like that. But since Jason is playing this year, I will certainly be there.
