What's Up

Ok, so I'm feeling better than I was a couple posts ago. A little dose of reality, know what I mean? Enough of that.

We had a busy weekend. We've been painting and getting the house around to list it with a realtor. Did I already talk about this? I can't remember, but it seems familiar. Hmmmmm Anywho, we painted the kitchen and downstairs, and the hall. Scott has been getting trim around the baseboards and caulking windows.

Isn't it amazing how you actually go through your house and do all the little odds and ends that have needed to be done.....and only do it because you are going to sell it? We've lived without trim and caulk for two years! Well, if we want to sell the house it has to be the brightest and shiniest penny in the piggy bank. I must say, the house is standing tall right now.

So, Scott is working 2nd shift now instead of the weekend shift. He had a rough week last week getting used to the new schedule. It's been so weird around the house at night. I'm so not used to being at home in the evening without Scott being here. I'm a single mom again and it sucks. Basically, Scott and I talk on the phone and that's about the only conversation we have during the week. It stinks!

I'm watching Fox News and they are talking about N. Korea. I guess they are stating that they had a successful launch of their rocket and that their satelite is now in orbit. Greta is saying that the rocket went up and then crashed into the Pacific ocean. Isn't it amazing what the N. Korean government is telling it's people? In reality the rocket went 2000 miles and went into the ocean. But in a country like this, the people believe what they are told by their government....no matter how ridiculous. Starting to sound familiar here in the United States.

All right, I'm not here about politics tonight. I'm just here to chat. Scott just got home and he's in the shower so I have about four more minutes of chatting....then he'll come in and try to read what I'm typing. Nosey Nellie!

I lost my train of thought. Well, I can share with you that I have had a crap week at work. Yeah, I think I already bitched about that too. So, I'll move on.

I think we're going to take a trip to Ohio in the next week or two. Scott has been bugging me to go to Ohio and get some Fat Jacks pizza. Traveling with Sami is less than appealing to me. I think about the five minutes it takes me to drive to Meijer....and multiply that by....I don't know...whatever equals 4 hours! The very thought makes my head pound. Well, I had this brilliant idea that we should have my friend Kathie come stay with the kids and Scott and I go away over night for our anniversary.

I was talking about going to dinner and then staying overnight in Grand Rapids. As soon as Scott caught wind of that he started bugging me about going to Ohio instead. Then, he talks me into taking the kids. So, I'm ok with that. He wants to go see Jim and Lisa and that is good. We haven't seen them in two years. So, he has me all talked into it and we realize that Easter is this Sunday. Duh!

So, I'm trying to talk him into taking next week Friday off to go. The last couple of times we visited we stayed in Findlay at the Holiday Inn Express. OMG! It is the best place. For $85 we get a two room suite! There is actually room for 6 people to stay, has a fridge, indoor pool and hot tub. They have breakfast! It really is a good time to stay there and it's cheap, as far as hotels go. I think I would feel bad going that far without the kids. Plus, Jim and Lisa haven't even met Sami yet. They are in for a real treat.

We'll see. Scott is known for having these great ideas and then backing out at the last minute because he won't feel like the drive. OK, gotta go and he's already trying to see what I'm writing. He thinks it's my journal, lol.
