Another Easter holiday has come and gone.
The Easter Bunny worked very hard last night and was up very very late. I guess the kids were good this year because the Easter Bunny was very generous with the Easter baskets this year. He also left 84 filled Easter eggs in the back yard. Yes, I said 84! The kids were happy because they made out like bandits this year. (Well, I'm sure for Jason he was thinking "gas money" they whole time.)
When I woke up this morning at 7am I heard John squeeling with delight over his Easter basket. I was praying that Sami was still asleep because I was still sleepy. I admit, I did lay here in bed until after 8am. When I got up, the sun was shining and the kids were all happy and there was a cup of coffee next to my recliner in the living room. Life doesn't get much better than that.
So, we got around and went out back for the egg hunt. I bought these really cute gift bags with big daisy's on them for collecting eggs. I, of course, had to rip the daisy off Johns blue bag and Jason refused to use one at all.....but the girls really liked them. The kids collected their eggs in record time and we came back in to count their money!
We did stay home for dinner. Surprisingly, Scott didn't do much in the kitchen. The last time I wrote I was talking about him doing th cooking. Today, he was a slug! So, I cooked and dinner was still good. I have to say that my butterhorn rolls were my best ever. I was very careful in making them to ensure perfect rolls. And they were.
After we stuffed ourselves, Scott went back to being a slug in the recliner. Yeah, he took a nap while Jason and I cleaned up the kitchen. What a bum. I wanted a nap so bad all afternoon. When we are children we cry because we have to take a nap. As adults, we beg for the chance at a nap. Poor Scott, he still hasn't adjusted to working second shift and I think that he's just plain old tired.
So after his nap, Jourdan and Scott decided we needed to burn off our dinner by playing tennis. I had just changed Sami into some clean duds after her dinner and I was laying there on the floor desperately wanting 30 minutes to close my eyes. Scott hounded me and hounded me. He called me a slug and told me that he was going to go lose 3 pounds and that I was going to gain one by laying there on the floor.
Nice huh?
Well, I had told hin last week that when I say I'm tired or I don't feel like going for a walk or just getting off my dead ass.....he needed to force me. Well, he finally got me going and we walked over to the tennis courts and the middle school. I wasn't going to play but he made me. Creep.
Once we started playing, it was fun. John and Scott played against me and Jourdan. Sami just ran around chasing a tennis ball that Scott gave her. She loved it! We were the only ones there so it didn't matter. And, once I started playing, I felt better. I wasn't so tired and I didn't feel so crappy. So, I'm glad that he made me go. We had alot of fun.
We played for an hour and then came home and decided we better stay out of the recliners a little bit longer. We did a bunch of yard work, raking leaves and planting grass seed. Scott burned some logs and leaves. We were out back for about an hour and I realized that we were all out there except Jason. He was in the house, in Scott's recliner...asleep!
Silly silly Jason. Yeah, I woke him up and told him that he needed to come out and enjoy the fun.
So that was our day! I wasn't super warm out, but I think it was in the upper 50's and it was sunny....that was nice. It's been so breezy though and that's what makes it feel so cold. The kids don't care of course, but I'm old and it feels like 30 degrees to me. Now, I'm tired. It's been a busy day and it has been a long, busy and stressful week. And, since it's Sunday night I get to wake up in the morning and start it all over again.
